Yashoda Cyber Cafe

Yashoda Cyber Cafe is tucked away in Gali No 1, right in the Naya Bans part of Sector 15. It’s one of those narrow lanes where everyone knows everyone else’s business. Inside the cafe, we have a row of computers lined up against the wall, each with its own little wooden partition that’s gotten a bit scuffed over the years. You can usually hear the sound of the printers clicking away or the hum of the cooling fans from the CPU towers. We spend a lot of time helping people with their online forms or printing out documents for school and work. The floor is concrete and we have a few heavy chairs that have been repaired more than once. It’s not the most modern looking place, but the internet works and we keep the place open late for the students. Sometimes the power goes out in Naya Bans, and we all just sit and wait for the generator to kick in. We have a small fridge in the corner where we keep a few cold drinks for whoever is working the long shifts. The walls are mostly bare, except for a few notices about printing costs and a calendar from three years ago that nobody bothered to take down. It’s a steady life here in the gali, and we’re happy to be the spot where people come to get their digital chores done. It stays busy until we lock up.
