It's a lot of outdoor work here in Sector 38 A 2. Most mornings start with checking the tracks on the rides. We walk around with grease and tools to make sure nothing is loose. The sun gets really hot by noon, so we all wear hats and try to find shade when there are no guests. The water park side is a bit different. We have to monitor the chemicals and make sure the slides aren't too dry. Kids show up in big groups and they have a lot of energy. We have to keep telling them not to run on the wet concrete or they might fall. It’s loud because of the music and the machinery humming all day. Sometimes a ride stops for a minute and we have to go reset the panel. The uniforms we wear are bright and they get sweaty fast in the humidity. We have a small break room in the back near the fence where we keep our bags. In the winter it’s nicer because the air is cool, but the crowds are bigger then. We spend a lot of time picking up empty soda bottles that people leave on the benches. It’s a big space to cover on foot. We lock the gates at night and it finally gets quiet. You can hear the city traffic from the road then. It’s just us and the security guards left. We go home and do it again.
