Spice Gold

Spice Gold is a local spot in Sector 25. It’s not on a main highway or anything, so it feels a bit more like a neighborhood place. We have a few regulars who come in every single day and sit in the same chairs, and if someone else is sitting there, they look a bit lost. The kitchen is small, so we have to be really organized or we just end up bumping into each other. We use these heavy metal pans that have been around since we first opened, and they have the black char on the bottom to prove it. The walls are painted a simple off-white, and we’ve hung a few basic frames to cover up some of the cracks in the plaster. In the evenings, the light from the streetlamp outside hits the front window and makes everything look a bit orange. We don’t have a big team, just a few of us who handle the cooking and the cleaning and the billing. Sometimes we run out of change in the cash drawer and have to run to the shop next door to break a note. It’s a simple operation, really. We just show up, cook the food, and lock the doors when the last person leaves. Sector 25 is quiet at night, which is a nice change from the busier parts of town. We keep a small radio on the shelf that mostly plays static, but it fills the silence when there aren't many people around.
