Star Net

If you walk down Block ll in Sector 29, you will eventually see our place at number 73. Star Net has been sitting here in this corner for a good long time. It’s a small shop, really. There is usually a mess of cables somewhere on the back table because we are always fixing something or checking a connection. We don’t have a fancy waiting area with soft chairs. Most people just stand around and talk while we finish up. It can get a bit loud when the fans are running on the machines. The light in the back room flickers sometimes but we haven't gotten around to changing the bulb yet. We mostly deal with whoever walks through the door from the neighborhood. It is nice being in Sector 29 because you get to know the faces. Sometimes people just stop by to say hello even if they don't need anything. We have a small desk near the window where the sun hits in the afternoon. It gets pretty hot during the summer months, so we keep a small table fan going. We just try to keep the equipment running and help out whoever needs it. Nothing too complicated about how we run things here. We open up in the morning, stay until late, and try to keep things organized enough to find what we need. It works for us. We keep a stack of old magazines near the door for people to look at while they wait.
