We are located at A 56 in Sector 6. It’s a straightforward address in a part of town that has a lot of similar small offices and workshops. The building is a simple two-story structure and we take up most of the space inside. We call ourselves a skills academy because that is exactly what we do—we teach people how to do practical jobs. Most of our rooms are set up with tools and equipment rather than just rows of chairs. We think it’s better for people to actually handle things while they learn. The atmosphere is usually quite loud with people talking and practicing their new skills. We don’t have a big corporate hierarchy here. Everyone just chips in to keep the place running. Sometimes the roof leaks a little when there’s a heavy storm, so we have to move the desks around, but we manage. We’ve had all sorts of people come through our doors over the years, from young kids looking for their first job to older folks wanting to learn something new. It’s a rewarding place to spend the day. We don’t do a lot of fancy promotion. Usually, people just see our sign on the street and stop in to ask what we do. It’s a busy, noisy, and very real place to work and learn every day. We’re just happy to be here doing this.
