Life at Parag Dairy starts way before the sun comes up. Our place is located at B-219 in Phase II, and that’s where all the milk crates get stacked every morning. It’s cold work in the winter, handling the chilled bottles and packets, but the early start means we finish up while the day is still young. The floor is usually wet from washing down the equipment and the delivery area. We don't have any big signs or fancy decorations, just the functional space we need to store and move the dairy products. The trucks arrive early, and there is a lot of shouting and moving around to get everything loaded quickly. Everyone who works here is used to the smell of fresh milk and the sound of plastic crates clinking together. We’ve been in Phase II for a long time, and we know most of the delivery drivers by name. It isn't a complicated business, but it requires us to be there every single day without fail. People depend on their milk, so we can't really take days off. Sometimes a fridge breaks down and we all have to jump in to move stock before it spoils. It’s just part of the job. We keep our records in simple ledgers and mostly talk to people face-to-face. Our corner of Phase II is quiet in the afternoons, which is when we finally get to sit down and have some tea ourselves after a long morning of heavy lifting in the cold.
