Parag Dairy & Confectionary

If you are looking for Parag Dairy & Confectionary, we are on Jai Singh Road. We mainly deal with milk, curd, and some sweets. The morning starts very early for us, usually around five when the milk truck arrives. It is cold work in the winter, handling the crates. We also keep some biscuits and chocolates for the kids who walk past on their way to school. Jai Singh Road is a busy place, so there’s always someone coming in. I have a couple of large refrigerators that take up most of the back wall. They make a constant low noise that I don't even notice anymore. I spend a lot of my time cleaning the counters because dairy can be a bit messy if you aren't careful. I don’t have a big fancy menu for the sweets, just whatever we have in the glass case that day. Sometimes it's gulab jamun, sometimes it's something else. I write the prices on a small chalkboard. I’ve lived in this area my whole life, so I know most of the families around here. They come in for their daily milk and we talk about how things are going. It’s a steady job. It doesn’t make me a rich man, but it’s a good way to live. I close up around nine at night once the last of the milk is sold. This life on Jai Singh Road is pretty predictable.
