You can find us at 35-36 in Gandhi Market, which is just off the main bus stand in Modi Nagar. It is a good location because we get a lot of people who are just passing through or coming into town for work. The shop is long and a bit narrow, and we have footwear piled up on every available shelf. Mohit is usually the one behind the counter, or sometimes one of his brothers. We have been in Gandhi Market for a while now, and we know how things work around here. It’s a busy place with a lot of noise from the buses and the people shouting. We don’t have any fancy decorations or bright lights. We just put a few pairs of shoes out on the pavement so people know what we have. Sometimes the ceiling fan makes a loud clicking noise, but we just ignore it. We mostly sell things that are practical for walking on the dusty roads around Modi Nagar. It’s not a fancy boutique by any means. It’s just a place to get decent shoes for a fair price. We often stand outside and talk to the other shop owners when it’s quiet. It’s a simple life, and we are happy to be part of the local community here. We just stay open until the last bus leaves at night and then we head home.
