We're located at 130 in Sector-24, where Lakhani Footwear Pvt Ltd has its main operations for this area. When you walk into the building, the first thing that hits you is that very specific smell of rubber and industrial glue. It’s a big space because we have a lot of stock that needs to be moved every single day. There are tall metal racks and cardboard boxes piled up almost to the ceiling in some of the storage areas. It takes a new person a while to learn their way around the aisles without getting lost in the rows of different shoes. We have a good number of people working here, mostly focusing on the packing and moving of boxes for various orders. It’s a lot of physical work, especially when a new shipment comes in from the factory and everything needs to be sorted. We don't really do much in the way of fancy decoration or office furniture; it’s a warehouse and it definitely looks like one. Sector-24 is a busy area with a lot of other businesses and warehouses, so there’s always some activity going on outside on the street. We usually have a bit of a laugh during our lunch breaks in the small canteen. It’s a down-to-earth place where everyone just wears their comfortable clothes and does their shift. We try to keep the workflow steady so we don't end up with a huge backlog of orders. At the end of the day, we’re just a group of people making sure the footwear gets sent out.
