Govt. High School Gajigoan

Govt. High School Gajigoan is at D-41 in Noida. The area code is 201307. This isn't the part of Noida with the big malls and glass buildings. It’s more of a quiet, older area. The school is a simple building on the D-41 plot. We have a few floors with classrooms on each one. The students come from the local neighborhood and the villages nearby. We have a very basic setup. There are benches for the kids and a desk for the teacher. We use chalk and boards. The building is painted a light color that has faded over the years. We have a small courtyard where we do the morning prayers. In the late morning, the smell of the mid-day meal starts coming from the kitchen area. It’s usually simple food like rice and lentils. The kids look forward to it. The teachers have a small room to sit in. We don't have a lot of space for extra things. Most of our time is spent teaching or dealing with the school records. The office is small and often has parents waiting to talk to the headmaster. We have a few fans in each room, but Noida can get very hot in the summer months. We just keep the water tanks full and carry on. The school has been here for a while and everyone in Gajigoan knows where we are. It’s a straightforward place with no bells and whistles. We just do our work and see the same faces every day.
