Sector 18 is always moving, and we are right in the middle of it. It’s the kind of place where you can hear the city humming all the time, even late at night when most things are starting to close down. Our shop is where we keep the freezers running 24/7 to make sure everything stays as cold as it needs to be. You can hear the constant hum of the machines if you stand still for a second, which is a sound we have grown very used to over the years. We have a few chairs tucked against the wall, but most people just grab what they want and keep walking through the sector to look at the other shops. The colors inside are bright, and we spend a good chunk of our time wiping down the glass displays so people can actually see what’s inside without looking through streaks. Sometimes the front door doesn't close all the way unless you give it a little extra push on your way out. We get a lot of teenagers hanging out on the weekends and families coming in for a treat after they finish their dinner nearby. It’s a small space, so it gets crowded pretty fast when more than five or six people come in at once. We keep the little plastic spoons in a container on the counter right by the napkins. There’s always someone asking what the flavors are even though labels are there. It’s just a cold spot in a hot city where people stop for a minute.
