Satyam Jewellers

We are over at No. 69-A in Gandhi Nagar. If you look for the Hari Mandir, we are right nearby. You can often hear the morning prayers and the bells from the temple while we are setting things up. Satyam Jewellers has been in this spot for quite some time. The neighborhood has changed a lot, but this corner stays pretty much the same. We have a small counter where we sit. The glass top has a few scratches from years of use. Usually, we drink a lot of tea while we wait for the day to pick up. Gandhi Nagar is a place where everyone knows each other, so we spend a lot of time just chatting with neighbors who walk past. It’s not a high-pressure environment. We keep our items in the safe at night and bring them out every morning. It’s a ritual that takes about thirty minutes. The flooring is that old grey stone that stays cool even when the sun is hitting the front of the shop. We have a small stool for customers, but often people just stand and talk. We don't have fancy displays with velvet everywhere. It's just a practical space for our business. When the rains come, the street outside gets a bit muddy, so we have to keep a mop handy. It’s just a normal part of life for us here in this area.
