Fluid

Fluid is right on the corner at C 1 in Sector 18. Being at the end of the block means we get a lot of people just passing by on their way to other shops. The front window is big and lets in all the street light at night, which looks okay even if the glass gets smudgy from people leaning against it. We spend a lot of time polishing the glasses and making sure the counters aren't sticky. The stools are metal and make a loud scraping sound when they get moved across the floor, which usually startles the new staff. It isn’t a huge place, so it feels crowded pretty quickly once a few groups walk in. We have a small storage room in the back that is always overflowing with crates and extra supplies, so it’s a bit of a squeeze to get through. The plumbing acts up sometimes in the washroom, but we usually manage to fix it with a wrench ourselves. During the day, it’s mostly just us doing inventory and waiting for the evening when things pick up. You can hear the traffic from the main road constantly, like a background hum that never really stops. We don’t try to be anything special, just a spot in Sector 18 where the lights stay on late and the door stays open. We have a small rug by the entrance that always gets bunched up under the door, so we are constantly kicking it back into place with our shoes.
