Our place is in Sector-64, specifically at B-16. This part of the city is mostly factories and warehouses, so it’s a lot of grey buildings and trucks. Alba Footwear has been operating from this unit for several years. It’s a functional space above all else. We have the production area in the back and a small office space at the front. The office has some old wooden desks and a few computers that have seen better days. It’s a bit noisy because of the machines running, but you get used to the vibration after an hour or so. We don't have a receptionist or a lobby with magazines. If someone comes to see us, they usually just walk straight into the workspace. The walls are covered with old calendars and some notes scribbled directly on the paint. We aren't trying to impress anyone with the decor. It’s about getting the shoes made and shipped out on time. The midday sun hits the front windows hard, so it gets a bit warm in the summers. We have a few ceiling fans that help. Most of our workers have been with us for a long time, so we all know the routine. It’s a steady environment where everyone knows their job. We just keep our heads down and stay busy with the daily tasks. It is a practical way to run a business.
