Our place is located at No.- 9/137 Ramgopal Street. If you know the area, it’s one of those streets that’s always full of people and small shops. Gopaldas Shyamsunder & Co. has been operating out of this building for years. It’s an old building, but it holds up. We have a lot of files stacked up in the corners because we haven’t quite gone fully digital yet. It’s just easier sometimes to look at a piece of paper. The stairs are a bit steep, so we tell everyone to be careful. During the day, the sounds of the street come right through the windows. You hear the vendors shouting and the bikes zooming past. We mostly just sit here and handle the daily accounts and the orders that come in. It’s a family-run sort of vibe even if not everyone is related. We eat lunch together most days at the big table in the back. Sometimes the power goes out for an hour, and we just sit and talk until it comes back on. Ramgopal Street has a lot of history, and we feel like we’re part of that now. We aren't trying to change the world, just trying to keep the business running smoothly for our customers. We deal with the same suppliers we’ve had for a decade. It’s simple, steady work. We don't use fancy software, just basic tools that get the job done. That's really the long and short of it for us here. We just try to stay on top of the books and keep moving forward daily.
