Bavana Rice Mill

Bavana Rice Mill is over in Achanpally, near Bodhan. Our place is 1 113/1. It’s usually pretty loud here because of the machines running. We deal with a lot of grain throughout the day. Farmers from around the Bodhan area bring their rice to us. It’s dusty work and you’ll often find us covered in a bit of husk or flour by the end of the shift. The mill has been part of the landscape here for a while. We don’t have fancy cooling systems, just big fans and open doors to keep the air moving. It’s a lot of physical labor, hauling bags around and checking the quality of the rice. We don’t use much technology besides the milling equipment itself. People know us as a place where things get done without any nonsense. We don’t have a front desk or a receptionist. You just walk in and find someone near the machines. The smell of raw rice is everywhere here. We stay busy during the harvest season especially. It’s a tough job but someone has to do it. We don't really bother with advertisements. The farmers know where we are. We just focus on keeping the machines in good shape so we don't have any breakdowns when the trucks arrive. It's a loud life, but it's what we know best in Achanpally. We've been doing this for years and it's what keeps the town fed.
