Ooty Agro Exports Llp

Up here in the hills of Kotagiri, Ooty Agro Exports Llp is located at the Burnside Estate in Anna Nagar. Being in Konavakorai means we are surrounded by greenery and a lot of farms. It’s a different world compared to the plains. We handle agro exports, so our work is tied closely to the land and the seasons. The air is cooler here, which is nice for working, but the mountain roads can make transport a bit slow. We are at 10/220, a place we’ve used for quite some time now. Our day starts early when the mist is still on the ground. We check on the produce that comes in from the local estates and get it ready to be sent out. It’s a lot of manual sorting and packing. We don't have any fancy machinery; it’s mostly just us doing the work by hand. The people who work here are mostly from the local villages around Anna Nagar. We know the farmers and we know the land. It’s a simple life, focused on what grows in the soil. We don't have much of a corporate structure. We just work together to get the crates filled and onto the trucks. It's honest work and it keeps us busy throughout the year. We drink a lot of tea to stay warm when the clouds come down low over the estate and we wait for the final truck to arrive.
