Jss College Of Arts U0026 Commerce, Chamarajanagar is actually located over in Fingerpost, Ooty. It’s a beautiful part of Tamil Nadu, 643006. Even though the name mentions Chamarajanagar, we are right here in the hills. The weather can get pretty chilly and foggy up here in Ooty, which is a big change from the plains. We have a modest setup. It is not some sprawling university campus with glass buildings. It is a practical place for students interested in arts and commerce. We spend our days looking after the classrooms and helping out with student registrations. Sometimes things are a bit slow, especially when the weather is bad and the roads get difficult. We don't have any big mission statements on the walls. We just try to make sure there are enough chairs and that the teachers have what they need. Most of the people who work here have been around for years. We know the local shops in Fingerpost well. It is a quiet existence for the most part. We handle the paperwork and keep the building clean as best as we can. Students come from all over the local area to sit in our classrooms. It's just a regular college doing regular things every day. We don't try to be anything we aren't. It’s just us up here in the Nilgiris, doing our daily work. Often we have to clear the mist from the windows just to see out. It is a different kind of life.
