Open Sky School

We are located right on St.Thomas Church Road in Selvapuram. If you know Ooty, you know it gets pretty quiet up here sometimes, but the school stays busy most of the day. There’s always someone running around the halls or taking care of something in the office. It’s not a huge place, just a regular building where we do our work and look after the students who come through the gates every morning. Most of us have been here a while now. We deal with the usual stuff, like fixing desks or making sure the gate is locked at the right time. The weather is often misty, so we spend a lot of time making sure everyone stays warm inside. It’s a simple setup really. People drop their kids off and we get on with the lessons. You can find us easily if you follow the road past the church. There is no big flashy sign, just the name on the wall. Sometimes the traffic on the road gets a bit much during tourist season, but we manage. We aren't doing anything fancy here, just running a school like any other place in the hills. Most days are about getting the attendance done and making sure the lunch break doesn't go on too long. It is just how things go at Open Sky School. We keep the place clean and try to stay organized, even when things get a bit chaotic in the afternoons before everyone heads home.
