Jrg Insurance Broking

We are up here in Ooty, at 111/109 Vannarpet. The Nilgiris are beautiful, but the weather can be a bit damp for the insurance papers. Being at Jrg Insurance Broking, I deal with a lot of people from the local area. Most people just walk in off the street in Vannarpet to ask about their policies. It’s a small office, nothing like what you see in the big cities. We have wooden shelves and some old filing cabinets that have been here forever. The 643001 area is where I’ve spent most of my time. You get used to the cold mornings and the way the mist rolls in over the hills. I usually wear a sweater even when I’m inside because the old building doesn't hold the heat well. My day is mostly filled with filling out forms and explaining things to neighbors. People here prefer talking face to face rather than over the phone. I try to keep things organized, but there’s always a stack of papers waiting for me. Ooty is a quiet place once the tourists leave for the season. I like the peace of it. Sometimes the rain makes the roof leak a bit, so we move the desks around. It’s just how it is here. I don't have a big marketing pitch. We just help people with their insurance stuff and try to stay warm. It is a slow life but it is honest work.
