About Peevees Public School – Education in Nilambur
The gate at Peevees Public School usually creaks a bit when the watchman opens it at seven. We are tucked away on Peevees School Road, which gets quite muddy when it rains in Nilambur. Chakkalakuth is a busy enough spot, but once you get behind the school walls, things settle down. I’ve been working here for a while now, and the classrooms are just standard rooms with wooden desks that have seen better days. Some have scratches from students who couldn't sit still. We have trees out front that drop leaves all over the place, and someone is always sweeping them up. It’s not a fancy setup. The walls are a bit faded, and we probably need a new coat of paint soon. Every morning, you hear the buses pulling in from the main part of town. The kids come in with their bags, some looking tired and others running around like they have too much energy. We don't have a lot of big slogans or anything. It’s just a place where teachers teach and students try to get through their lessons. The office is small and usually piled with papers that need filing. We try to keep the garden tidy, but the Nilambur weather has a mind of its own. It’s just how things are here on a Tuesday or any other day of the week. People know us by the old gate and the sound of the bell.
