It’s a bit quiet out here by Padmini Station. We’ve been at this spot in the township for a good while now. Most days start with the sound of the trains pulling in early, and that’s usually when we open up. It isn't a fancy setup. The office is mostly desks and paper piles that never seem to get smaller no matter how much we work. We just handle what comes through the door. Some people think it’s a bit out of the way, but we like it here. There’s a tea stall just down the road that makes decent ginger chai, which helps when the afternoons get slow. We don’t have any big slogans or anything. We just do the work that needs doing. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to sit around for a bit, but that’s just how things go. Most of us live nearby, so the commute isn't too bad, though the dust from the station can be a bit much in the summer. We’ve seen the township change over the years, new shops coming and going, but we’re still here at number 10. It’s a simple life. We aren't trying to change the world or anything like that. We just show up, do our tasks, and go home to our families. If you’re looking for us, look for the faded blue sign near the gate. It’s nothing special, but it’s home for us during the day.
