N L C I Ltd

Down in 51, Valayamadevi, things are a bit different than the city. This is where N L C I Ltd is based, and it’s a big part of the local landscape. We are mostly involved with the ground and whatever comes out of it. There are a lot of machines around, and the sound of engines is pretty constant throughout the day. It’s an industrial sort of place, so don't expect it to be quiet or clean. We have people coming in for shifts at all hours, so the gates are almost always open. The office part of it is just where we keep the logs and make sure the safety gear is all accounted for. We wear boots and heavy shirts because the work is rough. Most of us have been working in this area for years, and we know the land around Valayamadevi pretty well. It’s a lot of coordination between the guys on the machines and the people in the office. We don't spend time on fancy speeches or marketing. We just focus on the tasks for the day and try to hit the numbers we need to. The weather can be a real pain, especially when it gets too hot to touch the metal, but we just keep going. It’s a tough job but someone has to stay here and make sure the operations keep running smoothly day after day.
