Yamu S Panchayat

Being in Connaught Place, right at Municipal Market number 92, means we see all kinds of people every day. Yamu S Panchayat is our little corner in this busy part of the city. It’s not like the big fancy showrooms nearby with their glass doors and air conditioning. We keep things simple. People stop by when they are tired of walking around the inner circle or are looking for something specific. The space is a bit tight, but we’ve made it work over the years. Connaught Place Muncipal Market 92 has changed so much, with new shops opening every month, but the municipal market still has that old feel to it that I like. We deal with various small things that people look for when they’re in the area. Sometimes it feels like the whole of Delhi passes by our door in a single afternoon. It’s loud with the traffic and the crowds, but you get used to it. My cousin and I take turns being here at the shop. We don’t really bother with big advertisements or anything like that. Most people find us just by walking past or because someone told them we were here. We have our regular customers who have been coming for years, even if they moved to other parts of the city. It’s just a regular shop doing its bit. We try to keep the shelves organized, but it’s a constant struggle with so much happening. Every day is a bit different here for us.
