Our business, India Importer, is situated right near the WZ-7 area, close to the Janakpuri East Metro station. It’s a spot that sits right between Tilak Nagar and Vikaspuri, which makes it pretty easy for us to get around. We chose this location because it’s convenient, though it can get really crowded when the metro lets out. The office itself is pretty basic. We don’t have fancy art on the walls or leather chairs. It’s just a place where we come to work every morning. We deal with a lot of different importers and exporters, so we’re usually juggling a dozen things at once. Some days are slow and we just sit around drinking tea and catching up on emails, and other days it feels like the phone never stops ringing. We don’t try to act like we’re some huge international firm. We’re just a local outfit doing our part in the trading business. We’ve had the same few employees for years, and we all know each other’s families by now. It feels more like a small community than a workplace sometimes. We don't spend money on fancy advertisements or polished brochures. Most of our work comes from people who have known us for a long time. It’s an honest way to make a living, and we’re happy to keep doing it right here in Janakpuri. It works for us and we just keep it simple.
