Vikas Thermacol Packing

Vikas Thermacol Packing is located at number 38 in Gali No. 2. We are part of the Deep Enclave area in Vikas Nagar. Working with thermacol means there are always those little white foam bits everywhere, no matter how much we sweep. They stick to your clothes and the walls. The workspace is basically a large room with high ceilings where we keep the cutting machines and the raw blocks. It stays relatively cool inside because of the thick walls, which is nice during the Delhi summers. We spend most of the day measuring out sizes and cutting pieces to fit whatever the customers need for their boxes. The noise from the machines is pretty constant, so we have to talk loudly to hear each other. We have a small desk in the corner with a pile of old invoices and a telephone that rings quite a lot. The street outside Gali No. 2 is usually blocked by someone’s scooter or a delivery van, so getting things in and out takes some patience. We’ve been in this spot for a while and the people in Deep Enclave know us as the place that’s always covered in white dust. It isn’t a glamorous job, but it is what we do. We start early in the morning before it gets too hot and try to finish the big orders by sunset. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit outside on the steps until it comes back on.
