V. AUTOMAT & INSTRUMENTS (P) LIMITED

Being in Okhla Phase-I means you get used to the noise and the constant movement of trucks. Our spot at F-61 is right in the thick of it. V. Automat & Instruments (P) Limited is basically just a group of us working with dials, gauges, and sensors all day. It’s detailed work, the kind that makes your eyes tired by four in the afternoon. The building is functional, nothing more. We have desks piled with papers and workbenches covered in tools and tiny components that seem to disappear if you blink. The air smells a bit like ozone and old coffee. We spend a lot of time testing things, making sure the needles on the instruments land exactly where they are supposed to. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we know. Most of us take the metro or ride bikes through the crowded streets to get here every morning. Sometimes the power goes out or the delivery truck is late, and we just deal with it. We don't have a fancy lobby with a fountain; we just have a front desk and a lot of shelves. It’s a practical place for practical people. We like the routine of it, the way a finished instrument feels in your hand before it’s boxed up and sent off to some factory somewhere else. It is just a place where we put in the hours and try to keep things accurate for the people who need them.
