Our factory is at K-96 in Udyog Nagar, which is quite close to Peera Garhi Chowk. If you are familiar with the area, you know it is a hub for all sorts of manufacturing. Derby Shoes Pvt. Ltd. has been operating from this spot for quite some time. The building is a typical industrial setup. Inside, you will find rows of benches where the shoes are put together. There is always the smell of glue and leather hanging in the air. It is a busy place, especially when we have a big deadline to meet. We are not a big fancy brand with a lot of marketing; we are just people who know how to put a shoe together so it stays together. The trucks come in and out of Udyog Nagar all day long, and we are just one of the many businesses trying to get things done. We don't have a receptionist or a lobby. If you come by, you'll probably find us on the floor checking the stitching or sorting through soles. It is hard work and the hours can be long, but it is what we do. We've seen the neighborhood change a lot over the years, but Peera Garhi Chowk remains the main landmark for us. We just keep our heads down and focus on the footwear, making sure each pair is done right before it gets packed away into boxes for shipping.
