We have been at Kashmere Gate for a long time. Shop No 1561 is where you can find us. It's on Church Road, right where all the action happens. It gets quite crowded during the day because of all the vehicles and people moving around. I spend most of my time behind the desk here, looking at papers and answering the phone. We do a lot of transport work from this spot. Sometimes the traffic outside makes it hard for people to park, but we manage. My father started things here and now I’m the one looking after the place. It’s a simple office, nothing fancy with big glass windows or anything. We have some old chairs and a lot of registers. People come in to ask about rates or where their stuff is. Most of the people we work with are regulars who know where Church Road is. It’s noisy because of the buses, but that is just how Kashmere Gate works. I usually arrive early to open up the shop before it gets too hot. Sometimes the power goes out, but we have a small backup. We just keep things moving every day. It’s not an easy job but it’s what we do. If you walk down the road past the old church, you’ll see our sign. It's been there for years and it’s a bit faded now, but we are still here doing our thing.
