Tabinda Herbals

Down in Okhla, at Batla House, you’ll find our place, Tabinda Herbals. It’s located in Rahat Manzil, F-14/10. The area is always crowded, with lots of rickshaws and people moving about. Our shop smells like dried leaves and spices most of the time. We spend our days measuring out powders and looking at different roots. It’s a small operation. We’ve got shelves lining the walls, filled with jars and packets that we put together ourselves. Sometimes people come in with old notes from their grandparents, looking for a specific herb they used to use. We do our best to find it in the back room where we store the bulk items. The lighting isn't the brightest, but we know where everything is kept. Working here in Batla House means you see a lot of life every day. It’s loud and dusty outside, but inside it’s a bit calmer. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. It’s just us, the herbs, and the customers who have been coming to this building for years. We drink a lot of tea while we work to stay alert. If the weather is nice, we leave the door open, but mostly we keep it shut to keep the dust off the products. It’s a simple way to make a living, and we like the quiet routine of the afternoons when things slow down.
