Sumas Exim

Our spot is on the first floor at H-187/4 in Kilokari, right across from Maharani Bagh. Sumas Exim has been here for a bit. It’s a busy part of Jeevan Nagar with plenty of traffic outside. The stairs up to the office are a bit narrow, so you have to be careful when you're coming up. We deal with a lot of import and export stuff, which basically means we spend half the day on the computer and the other half dealing with logistics. It’s not always glamorous work. There are a lot of emails to answer and phone calls that go on for too long. We share the building with a few other small businesses. You can hear the noise from the street all day, but you get used to it after a week or two. We don't have a big team, just a few people who know the ropes. Most of our clients are folks we've known for years. We don't really do much marketing or have a sales team. If the work is okay, people come back. The office gets a bit warm in the summer, even with the fans going full blast. We keep a lot of records in big binders on the shelves. It’s a bit old school, maybe, but it works for us. Every day is different depending on what’s coming in or going out. Sometimes there are delays at the warehouse that we have to fix.
