Shruti S M Jauhari & Assoc is tucked away at 20, Central Lane on Babar Road. We are right in the heart of Connaught Place, which everyone knows is the center of everything in Delhi. Being near Bengali Market is nice because there is always good food nearby, though parking around here is a constant headache for us and our visitors. Our office reflects the older style of this part of the city. We have high ceilings and shelves that are probably too full of folders and thick books. It is not a modern glass building, but it has some character and plenty of history. We spend our days dealing with different clients who find their way through the busy streets to our door. The fan hums in the background while we go through documents and try to make sense of things. Sometimes it gets a bit chaotic with the phones ringing and people dropping in without calling first, but that is just how things go in CP. We have been at this address for a long time, so we have seen the shops around us change owners many times. We stay consistent. There is a sense of history in these walls that you do not get in the newer parts of town. We do not bother with fancy presentations or marketing stuff. We just sit across the desk and talk through whatever needs doing. It is a busy life, but we like the energy.
