Being based at Barakhamba Road in New Delhi House 2 puts us right in the middle of a lot of noise and traffic. It is one of those busy commercial buildings where people are always coming and going. My office is a simple one. I don’t have much in the way of decorations, just the essential desks, chairs, and a lot of folders stacked on the shelves. Most of my day involves handling different types of paperwork and talking to people who need help navigating various local processes. It can be quite repetitive, but it is what I have been doing for years now. I usually get in early before the traffic on Barakhamba Road gets too bad. The building itself shows its age in places, like the slow elevators or the slightly dim hallways, but it serves its purpose well enough. I don’t employ a big staff. It is mostly just me and occasionally someone to help with the filing. Lunch is usually a quick break at my desk because there is always something else to finish. I don’t really go for those high-end marketing strategies. People usually find me because someone they know told them I was here. It is a straightforward way to work. I like that I can just focus on the task at hand without having to worry about corporate meetings or polished presentations. It is just a regular office life in a very busy city.
