Gayatri Impex

Being in a basement in West Patel Nagar means we don’t get a lot of natural light, but it stays cool during the Delhi heat. Gayatri Impex is right there at No. 24/30, and we are quite close to Patel Park. Sometimes we go there for a quick walk just to see the sun for a few minutes before going back down to work. The office is a bit cramped because we have a lot of stuff stored away in the corners. It’s a very practical setup with simple wooden tables and a lot of extension cords running across the floor. You can hear the sounds of the street and people walking by outside the small windows at the top of the walls. We’ve been in this basement for quite some time, so we know exactly where everything is, even if it looks messy to an outsider. Our daily routine is pretty standard, involving a lot of checking lists and making sure the boxes are ready to go. We aren't trying to be anything we aren't. We just focus on the work at hand and try to stay organized. Most of our neighbors are small shops or other families, so it feels like a very local place to be. When the rainy season comes, we always have to watch the entrance to make sure no water gets in, but we’ve managed so far. It’s just our little corner of Patel Nagar.
