Jyotish Kendra

We’ve been here in Mayur Vihar for quite a while now. The office is over in Nehru Place, which is a bit of a trek some mornings depending on the traffic. It’s not a very big space, just a few chairs and a desk where we sit and talk to people who drop by. Most days it’s quiet enough, though you can hear the street noise if the window is open. We started this place because it felt right to have a spot where people can just come in and ask things. There isn't any fancy lobby or a receptionist greeting you at the door. You just walk in. Sometimes the tea guy comes around and we take a break. We have a lot of charts and old books lying around the shelves that have seen better days. The dust gets on them pretty fast. We don’t really do much advertising because the folks in the neighborhood know where we are. It’s just us here most days, looking at dates and times and trying to figure things out for whoever walks through the door. Sometimes it’s busy, sometimes it’s just us drinking chai and waiting for the afternoon sun to move across the wall. It’s a simple setup. We don't have a big corporate sign, just a small one so you don't miss the turn. It works for us and the people who come to see us.
