Our place is in the basement at 10759 on Jhandewalan Road, right in the middle of Nabi Karim. It is a busy area and the road is usually clogged with rickshaws and carts carrying all sorts of leather and plastic goods. Working in a basement means we don’t get much natural light, so we have these bright tubelights going all day long. It can get a bit stuffy when the fans aren't working right, especially during the summer months. We deal with impex stuff, which means there is always a lot of loading and unloading happening right at the entrance. It’s a tight squeeze getting things in and out through the narrow door. We have a small crew and we mostly just focus on keeping the inventory straight. There is a lot of paperwork to deal with, and it sits in piles on the desks. We have an old computer that makes a lot of noise, but it gets the job done. Lunch is usually whatever someone brought from home or a quick snack from the vendors on the street. The noise from the traffic above never really stops, so you just learn to talk over it. It’s not a fancy corporate office, but we have been here for a long time and everyone in the neighborhood knows where to find us if they need something.
