Mkc Fruits India Private Limited operates out of G-190 in Dilshad Colony, near Old Simapuri. Dealing with fruits means our days start very early, often before the sun is even up. When the trucks arrive, we have to move fast to get everything unloaded and checked. It's a lot of heavy lifting and the floors usually end up covered in bits of cardboard and stray leaves. Our space in Dilshad Colony isn't a fancy office; it’s a place for storage and sorting. It can get pretty cold in the early mornings and then very humid in the afternoon, which isn't always great for the fruit or for us, but we make it work. We spend a lot of time checking the quality of what comes in because fruit can be unpredictable. We aren't a big corporate entity with a bunch of managers. It’s just us, some crates, and a lot of hard work. Sometimes things get bruised or a shipment doesn't show up when it's supposed to, and we just have to figure it out on the fly. We don't have a marketing budget or a website designer. We just focus on getting the fruit where it needs to go while it's still good. It's a messy, busy business, but it's what we know how to do here in this part of Delhi. We just take it one day and one crate at a time.
