Metro Walk Footwear

Metro Walk Footwear is located at Goel Plastic Industries within the Dsidc Narela area. It’s an industrial zone, so it’s all about production here. We make footwear using a lot of plastic components. The air usually smells a bit like melted rubber and chemicals, which is just part of the job. It’s a noisy place with the machines constantly thumping away. We have a crew that works hard to keep up with the daily targets. It’s not a place for visitors really, as it’s quite dusty and utilitarian. We don't have fancy offices or comfortable chairs. Everything is built for work. Narela is a bit out of the way, so it’s a long commute for some of us. We start early and finish late. We deal with bulk orders mostly. It’s a lot of repetitive movement, packing shoes into bags and then into large sacks. We aren't worried about being trendy or high-end. We just make basic footwear that people can afford. The floor is always covered in small bits of plastic scrap that we have to sweep up at the end of the shift. It’s a tough environment, but we’ve been here long enough that it feels like home. We just keep our heads down and get the work done at Metro Walk Footwear. Sometimes we grab a quick snack from the vendors outside the gate when the afternoon heat is too much. It’s a long day every day, but we are used to the rhythm of the machines now.
