Mercury Footwear Pvt. Ltd. is located at No. 2664/2 Beadon Pura in Karol Bagh. If you have ever been to Karol Bagh, you know how crowded and tight the lanes can be. Our shop sits right in the middle of all that chaos. Because we deal with footwear, the place is packed with boxes from the floor all the way up to the ceiling. There is barely enough room for two people to walk past each other in the aisles. A strong smell of rubber and leather glue usually hits you when you walk inside. We have been in this same spot for a long time. The stairs leading up to the office are narrow and a bit steep. Most of our hours are spent dealing with vendors and customers who come in to see the new styles. Instead of fancy displays with bright spotlights, we just pull a pair of shoes out of a box and show them under the regular tube lights. Sometimes the noise from the market outside gets so loud we have to shout to be heard. Over at the small counter, we handle the cash and the receipts. It is a bit worn out at the edges. We are just a regular footwear business trying to keep up with the demand in the city. Nobody wears corporate uniforms here; we just put on what is comfortable for moving boxes around all day long without any fuss.
