Ramesh Papermart is located in the middle of Johari Bazzar. Now, most people come to this area for jewelry, but we’ve been here with our paper for a long time. It’s a tight space, as is everything in this part of the city. We have stacks of different sheets piled up high, and sometimes it feels like the paper might take over the whole room. It’s a bit dusty and the aisles are narrow, but we know where everything is. We don’t have a website or anything like that; we just rely on people knowing our name and where to find us. My father used to say that good paper is better than gold, though the jewelers next door might disagree. We spend our days cutting, sorting, and helping folks find exactly what they need for their own work. It’s a lot of physical labor, lifting heavy reams and moving things around to reach the back shelves. The noise from the bazaar is constant, but you stop hearing it after a few years. We don't have fancy lights or a cooling system that works all the time. It’s just an old-fashioned shop where we do things the way they’ve always been done. We don't see a reason to change much as long as the paper keeps moving.
