Jain Impex International

Our place is on Street-8 in Laxmi Nagar, specifically at D-151a. It’s a bit of a walk from the main road, which is actually kind of nice because it’s not as noisy. Jain Impex International is run by a few of us who have lived around here for most of our lives. We have a small office where we handle all the international paperwork, and the rest of the space is for storage. We spend a lot of time checking the quality of the goods before they get boxed up. There’s always a stack of empty cartons in the corner waiting to be filled. The neighbors on Street-8 are mostly other small businesses or families, so it feels like a friendly spot. We don't have any big corporate goals or anything like that. We just want to make sure the people we sell to get what they asked for. Sometimes we have issues with the delivery vans getting stuck in the narrow street, but we usually figure it out. It’s a lot of small tasks that add up to a full day. We drink a lot of chai and talk about the news while we pack. It’s just how we operate. We’ve been doing this for a while and we know the routine inside and out. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s our job. We just keep at it, box by box, until everything is ready for the shipping agent.
