India Foreign Trading Company is tucked inside Shanti House No. 7/ 12 Roop Nagar. It’s an older building with a lot of character. We’ve been based here for quite some time now. The office has a certain feel to it that you don't get in those new glass towers. It’s a bit cramped with all the filing cabinets and books we’ve collected over the years. We spend our days at Shanti House dealing with the usual flow of work. Roop Nagar is a decent area to be in. It has its own pace. Sometimes we have to move boxes around just to find a place to sit for a meeting. We don't have a janitor or a maintenance crew on standby, so if something breaks, we usually just fix it ourselves. The windows let in some of the street noise, which keeps us from feeling too isolated. We drink a lot of tea while we go through our documents. It isn't a fancy life, but it’s our life. We aren't trying to impress anyone with the office decor. It’s just desks, computers, and a lot of hard work. Being at No. 7/12 means we are part of the local fabric here. Most people around here recognize us by now. We just keep doing what we do, day after day, in our little corner of Shanti House.
