Goyal Provision Store

Our shop, Goyal Provision Store, sits right in the middle of Subhash Market in Kotla Mubarakpur. The exact spot is H-236-237. If you are coming from Sewa Nagar, we are quite close to that side. It is a very busy part of Delhi 110003. We have been here for a long time now. People come in for their monthly rations and small things they forgot during the week. It gets very loud outside with all the rickshaws and people shopping for clothes nearby. Inside, we just focus on getting the orders right. We have piles of flour bags and rows of cooking oil. Sometimes the inventory takes all day to count. We aren't a big supermarket with bright lights. It’s just a standard provision store where things are stacked where we can find them. My nephew helps me out on the weekends when the rush is heavy. We see a lot of the same faces every single week. It’s good to see the kids growing up. One day they are buying candy, the next they are buying supplies for their own kitchens. We just keep the shutters open and wait for the next person. Dealing with distributors is the hardest part, always checking the dates and the prices. But we manage it. It's just what we do here in Kotla. We don't have a big team, just a few of us making sure people get their bags of rice and lentils without waiting too long.
