You have to navigate through the narrow lanes of Sita Ram Bazar to find us at Plot No. 478. It is a crowded area, full of the sounds of the market and the smell of street food and old buildings. Our shop is packed with welding supplies from floor to ceiling. There isn’t much space to walk around once we get a shipment in. We spend a lot of time talking to the regular customers who come by looking for specific rods or masks. The building itself is quite old, like most of the structures in this part of the city. We have a small desk tucked in the corner where we keep our receipts and the phone. It is usually ringing with people asking if we have certain items in stock. Sometimes we have to move heavy boxes out onto the street just to get to something in the back of the shelf. It is a bit of a juggle, but we have a system that works for us. The afternoon sun doesn't really reach down into these streets, so it stays a bit cooler inside than you would expect. We know the other shopkeepers on the block, and there is always someone stopping by for a chat. It is a very traditional way of doing business, face to face in a busy market. We don't bother with much decoration because the products take up all the room anyway. It is just us and the welding gear.
