G. C. Impex

G. C. Impex is based at I-25 in Karampura. It’s an industrial sort of neighborhood, so there are a lot of small workshops and warehouses around us. The street is usually dusty and there are often trucks parked along the side, making it hard to drive through. Our building is a simple concrete structure. The paint is peeling a bit on the outside, and the metal door has a squeak that we haven't fixed yet. Inside, it’s mostly one large room with a high ceiling. We have a big table in the middle where we do most of our work. The walls are mostly bare, except for a couple of old clocks that don't even show the same time. It’s not the kind of place you’d bring someone to impress them. It’s just where we work. There is a small washroom in the back that always smells slightly like cleaning supplies. We have a fridge that hums loudly, but it keeps our drinks cold, which is all we care about. In the winter, it gets quite chilly inside, so we all wear thick sweaters while we sit at our desks. It’s a very practical space. We don't spend money on things we don't need, so the furniture is all mismatched and old. We just focus on getting our daily work done and heading home when the sun starts to go down. It’s not fancy but it works.
