Soapnuts India

Soapnuts India is tucked away in Tilak Bazar. If you know the area, you know Gandhi Gali gets pretty crowded. We are at No. 70 on the first floor. It is a bit of a climb up the stairs, especially when we are moving bags around. We deal with soapnuts and other natural things like that. It is a dusty business, to be honest. There are sacks piled up against the walls and the smell of dried berries is always in the air. We have been in this spot for a good bit of time. Tilak Bazar is a hectic place to work, but it is where all the trade happens, so we stay put. Our space isn't big. Sometimes it feels like the walls are closing in when a big shipment arrives. We spend most of the morning sorting through stock and getting things ready for customers. We are not big on fancy computers or systems; we mostly use notebooks and keep track of things the old way. It works for us. Most of the people who come to see us have been buying here for years. They know the Gandhi Gali turns and where to find our door. It gets loud outside with the handcarts and the shouting, but inside we just focus on the orders. We do not have a receptionist or a waiting room. You just walk in and we talk. It is just how things are done in this part of town.
