Chennumal Store

Living and working around Delhi Cantonment has its own pace. Chennumal Store has been part of this neighborhood for a long time. We aren’t one of those big malls where you get lost in the aisles. It’s a bit smaller here, maybe even a little cramped when we get a lot of stock in at once. We sell the usual things people need for their daily lives. Most of our day is spent talking to people who live nearby or just making sure the inventory is where it should be. The floors are old, and the shelves have seen better days, but they hold everything up just fine. Sometimes the electricity acts up, or it gets a bit dusty because of the road outside, but we just wipe things down and keep going. It’s a family thing, mostly. We take turns behind the counter. You won't find any slick sales talk here. We just tell you if we have what you're looking for or if we're waiting for the next delivery. It's practical work. We see the same families growing up over the years, which is a nice part of being in the Cantonment area. We open up in the morning, sweep the front, and stay until the evening. It’s just how we’ve always done it. There’s no big secret to how we run things. We just try to stay stocked up on the basics so nobody has to go too far.
