Ameen Impex

We are located right in the middle of the noise at Azadpur New Fruit Mandi, block B 723. If you know the mandi, you know it starts moving before the sun even comes up. Our place is full of crates and the smell of whatever fruit is in season right now. It gets very muddy when it rains and the trucks are always honking. Ameen Impex is mostly about moving boxes from one place to another and making sure things don't rot. We spend our mornings talking to drivers and checking the quality of what arrived. It’s not a clean office job. There is dust and bits of straw everywhere on the floor. My phone rings all day with people asking about prices and what’s fresh. We have been in this spot for a long time and we know the other traders nearby. Sometimes we share tea while waiting for a shipment to get unloaded. We don't have a website or anything fancy like that. Just this physical space in B 723 where the work gets done. It’s a lot of manual labor and quick decisions. If you come by in the afternoon it’s usually quieter but the morning is a total whirlwind. We just try to keep things moving so the fruit gets where it needs to go. It is a simple life but a very busy one here in Azadpur. We just keep our heads down and work through the crates.
