Our office is tucked away in Central Lane 6, right in the Bengali Market area near Mandi House. It is a nice part of town, very central, though finding parking can be a real headache sometimes. We handle a lot of frozen food stuff here, mostly focusing on the export side of things. It involves a lot of coordination with cold storage and shipping containers. Most of our work happens on the phone or computer, making sure the temperature stays right during transport. Since we are in Bengali Market, we often grab lunch at the nearby stalls. The building we are in is older, typical for this part of Delhi. It gets busy during the day with all the office workers walking around. We move meat and other frozen items, so we have to be careful about the timing. If a shipment is late, it causes a lot of stress for everyone in the office. We don’t have a big storefront where people can just walk in and buy a single pack of food, since we deal with larger quantities for the export market. It’s mostly just logistics and making sure the paperwork is sorted for the customs people. We’ve been at this location for a while now and we know the neighbors pretty well. It’s a quiet lane compared to the main roads nearby. We just keep our heads down and get the work done. There is always a lot of tea drinking while we wait for calls.
