Gs Minerals is based out here in Gudur. If you’ve ever been to this part of the country, you know it can get pretty dry and dusty, which is just part of the job when you work with minerals. We spend a lot of our time dealing with the logistics of moving materials from one place to another. The yard is usually full of trucks coming in or waiting to be loaded up. It’s loud and there is a lot of grit in the air most days. We don’t have a fancy lobby or anything like that. Our office is just a small room with a couple of desks and a calendar on the wall that’s usually a month behind. We started small and just kept at it over the years. The sun hits the metal roof of the shed and makes it pretty warm in the afternoons, but we have a few old fans that help a bit. Most of the workers here are locals from around Gudur. We know the roads well and the drivers know exactly where they need to go. There’s a lot of heavy lifting and sweating involved in this line of work. We just focus on getting the loads ready and making sure the weights are right on the scales. It is simple work but it takes a lot of time and effort to keep things running properly. We have some old wooden chairs for visitors, but they don't get used much because everyone is usually out in the yard. It's just a regular mineral business.
